GANGES -- George Potter died Friday morning Dec. 6. He came to this place from Pennsylvania in 1866. His occupation was that of a farmer. He became acquainted with Mrs. McElroy with whom he united in marriage. He had been a resident of Ganges and our postmaster for nearly a score of years. He was a soldier in the late rebellion and was in service until the close of the war. Mr. Potter was highly respected by all who knew him and was a good citizen for he was ready to help whenever it was desired. He leaves a wife and two step children to mourn the loss of a kind husband and father. He was followed to his last resting place by a large concourse of relatives and friends. The funeral service was conducted by Rev. Loose.
